How Sudanese Entrepreneurs Made Copies Of Mark Stopa’s Book, People v. Money, The #1 Toilet Paper In War Torn Khartoum
Reading this headline, you’re probably wondering what the hell is this? There is no effing way. Well, like all absurd things about Mark Stopa, it is true.
So, how did copies of Mark Stopa’s book People v. Money become the #1 choice of toilet paper on the streets of war torn Khartoum? Well, it was a mystery. That is until the crack team of MarkStopaVictims.com detectives went to work. Boy, is this a story to heard.
Believe it or not and also not surprising, Mark Stopa was the reason. However, he didn’t do it intentionally nor did he have anything to do with it.
Sudanese privateers are receiving roughly 125.00 LS (25 cents) a page selling the pages as toilet paper. That comes out to nearly $208.00 per book.
Stopa on the other hand is having an extremely hard time selling his book in the US for $2.99 on his website and for $9.95 on Amazon. Close associates of Stopa are saying the cash strapped and vexatious litigant is planning to sue the Sudanese privateers for royalties.
How Did Copies Of Mark Stopa’s Book, People v. Money, Get To Sudan?
Well, the story begins back in 2019. The Florida Bar had just disbarred Mark Stopa. Stopa was hot and ready to re-inventing himself. However, the Florida Supreme Court revoking Stopa’s license to practice law wasn’t going to stop Stopa.
He decided to create a cult. Yes, a cult with him as the leader. Stopa planned on basing it on his manifesto, People v. Money.
A delusional Stopa thought foreclosure victims from across the country would flock to him as their savior. However, this didn’t happen. People began waking up to the fact that Stopa was nothing more than a two-bit crook. They also began realizing Stopa is a nutjob.
However, bad initial sales of his self published book didn’t deter Stopa and his delusions of grandeur.
Stopa placed an order with a publisher to print 25,000 paper back copies of his book with the intent of selling them on Amazon. The publisher printed the 25,000 copies of the 832 page book. However, Stopa refused to pay the invoice like he did to dozens of court reporters in Florida. So, the books sat in a Tampa, Florida area warehouse. Eventually, the books were creating a potential fire hazard. The unbearable weight of 33.6 tons of the books was also created a structural problem for the warehouse.
As a result, the Hillsborough County Code Enforcement Board ordered the books removed.
The warehouse owner then placed the books in a shipping container out behind the warehouse. In late 2020, the warehouse owner died of Covid-19. The new property owners demolished the warehouse. He sent the shipping container filled with copies of Stopa’s book to a facility in Texas.
Bon Voyage, People v. Money!
For nearly 8 months the shipping container sat in Texas before making it’s way to the Port of Long Beach. The Texas shipping company had scheduled the shipping container to go to a recycling facility in Dalian, China.
However, the container fell victim to the post pandemic chaos that happened at the ports in Long Beach and Los Angeles. As a result, the port authority mislabeled the container and it was sent to Port Sudan in Africa.
Mark Stopa’s Book Sold As Toilet Paper In War Torn Khartoum
The container sat abandoned in Port Sudan until fighting broke out between rival military factions last month. Several soldiers from the Rapid Support Forces under the command of Mohamed “Hemedti” Hamdan Dagalo discovered the container filled with copies of Stopa’s book.
The enterprising soldiers under Hemedti’s command soon realized they could profit from the supply shortages in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum. Khartoum was facing a humanitarian crisis due to the lack of daily necessities. Namely, toilet paper.
They recruited family members and friends to begin ripping pages out of the copies of Stopa’s book. The rebel soldiers then built a supply chain to get the pages on the streets of Khartoum. The pages come bundled in packages of 50 pages under the name “Mr. Stopa’s Waraq Tawalit Mudhhil” or “Mr. Stopa’s Amazing Toilet Paper” in Arabic.
Naturally, Stopa and his wife, Adrienne Federico don’t seem upset about the book being used as toilet paper. However, Federico’s friends say they are extremely upset that they are not receiving royalties from the Sudanese rebels. They say Stopa is preparing a pro-se lawsuit against Hemedti and his troops in the 6th Circuit in Florida.
